WHAT ABOUT CARE AFTER A CIRCUMCISION?       Keep the area clean. If there is not a plastic ring around the penis, a little petroleum jelly applied to the circumcision site on gauze may be desirable for the first two or three days. If there is a plastic ring around the penis, allow the ring to fall off … usually three to seven days. That’s about it. After the first week, the foreskin should be pushed back toward the body and washed every day to avoid adhesions (the skin sticking).
